The ICOM M510 is an AIS ready VHF radio which normally comes with an internal AIS receiver. Many boaters want AIS transmission capability too and the AIT6000 makes the perfect partner, upgrading the system to a full Class B+ 5W AIS transponder while integrating with the ICOM VHF for easy DSC call capability to AIS targets and sharing AIS and GPS data via the NMEA 2000 backbone. The IC-M510 is slim (depth: 53.6 mm; 2.1 in) and easy to install in your boat.

Use the RS-M500 app (for iOS™/Android™) to remotely control the IC-M510 through WiFi. Up to three smart devices can be used as a wireless microphone or remote controller in substitute for the COMMANDMIC™. Intercom function between your smart device and the radio is also available.

The AIT6000 is a Class B+ 5W AIS transponder. It uses our latest Class B+ SOTDMA technology, offering 2.5x transmit power of regular Class B plus a more frequent position update based on the speed of the vessel. Just like a commercial Class A transponder, SOTDMA technology also guarantees a transmission slot in areas of high AIS traffic. It also has NMEA 0183, NMEA 2000, USB and a WiFi server to allow tablets and iPads to connect.

AIT6000 will send AIS target data to any MFD/chartplotter with an NMEA 0183 or 2000 interface and it can also transmit the AIS targets and GPS position to the ICOM VHF DSC radio via the included NMEA 2000 network kit.

The AIT6000 incorporates a patented zero-loss VHF antenna splitter, enabling the main VHF antenna to be shared safely between the AIS transponder, the VHF radio and even a FM/DAB radio. You don’t need to install a 2nd VHF antenna which saves time and cost while preserving excellent performance thanks to the ZeroLoss technology. Ideal for RIBs and sports boats to cut down on antenna clutter.

The AIT6000‘s wireless interface transmits not only AIS and GPS data, but also boat instrument data from the NMEA 2000 network – such as depth, heading, speed and wind information, to navigation software and apps such as Navionics, TZ iBoat, Savvy Navvy, AquaMap, Navimetrix, OpenCPN, Timezero – plus many others.

AIT6000 Wi-Fi is bidirectional, so not only it allows navigation data to be transmitted to mobile devices, but also, to send data from navigation applications or software to other marine equipment, such as routes and waypoints to the autopilot. This effectively turns the mobile device, tablet or PC into a powerful multi-function display.

Integrated into AIT6000 is a custom alarm for anchor drift and CPA, TCPA AIS anticollision alarms. These alarms can be monitored through the wireless interface, or NMEA 2000 alerts can be sent to other devices on the network, such as compatible MFDs and NavAlert alert system.

Installation is simple. The AIS will share the GPS and AIS data with the ICOM M510 VHF radio via a simple NMEA 0183 connection for a fully integrated system.
