KEY FEATURES
This is a sophisticated instrumentation pack including sensors for boat depth speed and temperature with NMEA 2000 and WiFi connectivity. The system is expandable using the included NMEA 2000 backbone and the iSeaSense Wi-Fi Server to wirelessly stream all instruments data on to navigation apps & software. The solution also includes NavLInk Blue NMEA 2000 to Bluetooth interface for connecting additional sensors to the boat’s network, such as Vakaros Atlas 2 sailing instrument and Calypso wireless wind sensor.
iSeaSense is a new marine instrumentation pack based on NMEA 2000 and WiFi connectivity for maximum flexibility. This boat instrument pack with wind includes a depth, speed and temperature transducer. A spatial sensor is also included for detecting pitch and roll and there’s a sophisticated algorithm for calibrating boat speed information based on heel.
As an option you can also add the WND100 wind sensor with 20m cable and a interface to “T” directly to the NMEA 2000 backbone. It means there’s no heavy NMEA 2000 cabling to the top of the mast and no need for complex mast top terminations for the Wind Sensor.
Top quality and highly accurate sensors are used for boat speed, depth and wind data. Data can be shared with other devices on the NMEA 2000 network too. A full NMEA 2000 backbone cabling pack is included and the WiFi interface for connectivity. There is a spare cable and connection point for additional NMEA 2000 devices such as a multi function display or Digital Yacht’s range of instruments.
No app is needed either as the iSeaSense wireless server creates powerful graphical and numeric instrument display pages that can be viewed via a browser on any device.
iSeaSense features an easy-to-use web interface. No apps are required. Simply open the browser on a connected device, navigate to iSeaSense.local and the optimised touch screen display is ready.
The web interface works on iOS, Android, PC, Linux and MAC – any standard web browser as well as e-ink displays like Kindle and e-book. It supports up to 3 connected devices with super fast 5Hz updates.
The data can also be used by 100’s of popular navigation apps & software such as Navionics, TZ iBoat, OpenCPN, SailGrib, etc.
This boat instrument pack with wind & Bluetooth interface also includes a NavLink Blue Bluetooth interface. NavLink Blue is an innovative gateway that connects Bluetooth sensors directly to the boat’s NMEA 2000 network. With it, compatible sensors become true NMEA 2000 instruments, whose data can be displayed on compatible chartplotters and multifunction displays on board.
This makes it easy to integrate modern wireless sensors into an existing marine installation without adding additional dedicated instruments.
NavLink Blue is self-powered from the NMEA 2000 network. Simply connect it to the NMEA 2000 network and it is immediately operational. Pairing with Bluetooth sensors is quick and easy thanks to its web interface.
A popular use case is to add Atlas 2 sailing instrument from Vakaros.
Vakaros Atlas 2 offers high precise positioning with up to 25 cm accuracy. It receives both L1 and L5 GPS signals, highly accurate heading information combined with gyro stabilization for improved precision and reliability, especially in challenging sailing environments. Combined with NavLink Blue, Atlas 2 can receive and display real-time data from the NMEA 2000 network, giving users immediate access to the available navigation data (wind, depth, speed, etc.).
You can also connect several Ruuvi tag environmental sensors. The RuuviTag sensors measure temperature, humidity, and atmospheric pressure. By connecting them to the NavLink Blue, you can display environmental data directly on NMEA 2000 chartplotters. Useful for real time weather monitoring.
Another application would be to integrate a Calypso ultrasonic wind sensor to NavLink Blue, allowing you to receive wind data directly on the NMEA 2000 network and iSeaSense web interface without having to run cables up the mast. The Calypso anemometer can be used as the main wind instrument for a wireless solution or as a backup sensor in addition to our WND100 for extra security and redundancy.

OPERATION
You can access the iSeaSense dashboard through its own web interface, just open your web web browser, enter the iSeaSense’s IP address or iSeaSense.local and you will access the attractive dash to display all your instruments data. So no complicated programming software or app is required.
By default, iSeaSense has a series of pre-defined pages that display digital databoxes and analogue “instruments” of the instrument and navigation data available on the NMEA 2000 network.
With iSeaSense you’re in control of the data you see. The pages are fully editable, so any databox can be configured for the information you want and you can easily add and remove databox to build your perfect display. The configuration can also be saved and shared – ideal for standard configurations for production boats and OEMs.
